Senghenydd Bowls Club
Welcome to Senghenydd Bowls Club, a small but well established club in the County Borough of Caerphilly. Formed in 1925 by local shopkeepers wishing to play bowls on Wednesday afternoons, when the shops closed for half-day, the Club now plays league matches on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
The Club is affiliated to the Welsh Bowling Association, South Glamorgan County Bowling Association, Cardiff and District Municipal Bowling Association and the Rhymney Valley Bowling Association. Not only does the Club play in the leagues run by those organisations but also the tournaments held by them. With these league matches and tournaments, and the Club’s own internal competitions, the Club’s members are guaranteed to have a busy but varied season each year.
The bowling green is located in the Welfare Park in Senghenydd and, since 2016, following the closure of the bowling green in Abertridwr, we have shared it with Tridwr Ladies Bowling Club.
The Club is always looking to attract new members, irrespective of age or experience. So, if you are an experienced bowler looking to change clubs, or someone who has never played the game before but wants to give it a try, come and give us a visit.
